We ordered a coupla beers and parked in the cozy plastic chairs to watch Tongues of the Heartworm, and they put on the best show I've seen from them so far -- I've only seen a few. It was notable for great showmanship and wild, funny, driving rock songs. Teri Catlin, who is moving to San Francisco some time in the near future, played a few of her songs, including an autobiographical number about singing a song to her mother whom she's never met, and a cover of Seal's "Crazy".

Then, we went inside and watched short films from local filmmakers. Some of them were better than others, speaking of the best film that we stuck around to see J. Vinazza's Cut Your Hand on the Good Book Didn't I say that Renda Writer was everywhere? While we were watching the short films, who should pop up on the screen but Mr. Writer in a film about people smoking PCP-laced marijuana that's rolled up in a page of the Bible. Oooops! Bloodshed ensues.
