What a loss for South Florida if Alligator Alley doesn't reopen! It's been around for a long time and is well known as the place to go for the blues. I saw my first official Hagus Magagus show. Although that show was local funk rock, blues and jazz musicians from all over the country played at Alligator Alley.

Every occasion that has meaning contains a moment that represents it. When you remember the occasion, you really just remember that moment and the way that you felt. The closing show at Alligator Alley was one of two dramatic moments that I was witness to at the little club in Oakland Park during its final week in operation. The first occurred during Kilmo's birthday party two weeks ago when Albert Castiglia thanked Kilmo for giving him a job -- playing blues guitar on the stage -- for seven years and then turned around and kissed him on the forehead.

Sure, Trina restaurant and lounge at The Atlantic hotel can hold its own against any high class establishment on Fort Lauderdale Beach, but the staff at the elegant lounge has an invitingly casual attitude (this is the beach, after all) and offers weekly happy hour specials that bring the good life to hard-working locals and Fort Lauderdale visitors alike.Trinvavino Wednesdays, with all-you-can drink wine and complimentary hors d'oeuvres, is pure indulgence for those whose passion for red and white leads them to do more than just sip from the vine; although two glasses of wine would be a good deal at this price. Trinvavino Wednesday Happy hour starts at 5 p.m. and runs through 8 p.m. Click here to find Intown 411's event and venue information for Trina's Trinavino Wednesdays at The Atlantic Hotel.
